Turnkey — Window Treatments

The Soft Finish That Completes Every Room

Curtains and blinds are the often-overlooked final layer of an interior design — but they make an enormous difference. The right window treatment controls harsh Mumbai sunlight, ensures bedroom privacy, softens hard architectural lines, and adds colour, pattern, and texture to a room.

VelvetSpace sources window treatments from premium fabric mills and blind manufacturers, and handles precise measurement, customisation, and professional installation. We design the correct treatment for each window type and room function — blackout curtains for bedrooms, sheer panels with blackout linings for living rooms, and roller or zebra blinds for offices and kitchens.

We also specify and install motorised curtain tracks and blind systems — particularly popular for large windows, high ceilings, and home automation integrations — allowing control from a remote, phone, or voice assistant.

Our Expertise

The Right Treatment for Every Window

Curtains

Floor-to-ceiling curtains create height and drama in living and dining rooms. We source fabrics in linen, cotton, velvet, and silk blends — tailored to precise lengths with French pleat, eyelet, or pinch pleat headings to suit the architectural style.

Roller & Zebra Blinds

Roller blinds offer clean, minimal lines ideal for modern interiors. Zebra blinds allow simultaneous light filtering and privacy control by shifting layers. Both are easy to operate and maintain, and available in hundreds of fabric options.

Motorised Systems

Motorised curtain tracks and blinds are ideal for large windows, bi-fold glass doors, and home automation setups. We install Somfy and Dooya motorised systems compatible with Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Floor-to-ceiling curtains add drama and luxury in living rooms. Blinds are more practical for kitchens and bathrooms. Many rooms benefit from a combination: a blind for privacy and light control with a decorative curtain layer for aesthetics.

A blackout-lined curtain is the most effective blackout solution. Alternatively, a blackout roller blind with side guides (to prevent light leakage around the edges) provides total darkness for shift workers or children who need daytime sleep.

We measure from the top of the track or rod to the floor (or sill for shorter curtains) and add 10–15cm for the header and 1–2cm clearance from the floor. We always measure on site — never from architectural drawings.

Yes. Modern motorised curtain systems from brands like Somfy are extremely reliable — rated for 50,000+ cycles (open/close operations). We recommend motorised systems for any window wider than 3 metres or for clients with home automation setups.

Curtains for a 3BHK apartment (living room, master bedroom, 2 other bedrooms) using good quality fabric with blackout lining typically costs ₹60,000–₹2 lakh depending on window count, fabric choice, and heading style.
