Residential Entertainment Rooms

Your Private Cinema Experience

A home theatre demands design precision. VelvetSpace designs dedicated media rooms and home theatres that deliver genuine cinema-quality visuals and acoustics — not just a big TV in a dark room.

We work closely with your AV integrator to ensure the room design supports the chosen audio-visual system perfectly: speaker positions planned before walls are closed, projector throw distance calculated before ceiling height is fixed, and cable routes built in during construction.

Design elements include tiered platform seating for unobstructed sightlines, motorised recliner chairs, acoustic wall panels in premium upholstered fabric, star-ceiling fibre optics, and precisely zoned lighting with scene control — all combining to create an immersive, transportive experience.

Our Expertise

The Three Pillars of Home Theatre Design

Acoustic Excellence

Home theatre acoustics require both absorption (thick fabric panels, carpet) and diffusion (textured rear walls). We calculate the room's acoustic characteristics and specify treatments that eliminate echo, standing waves, and muddy bass.

Visual Perfection

We calculate the optimal projector-to-screen distance, screen size relative to seating distance, and platform heights for unobstructed sightlines from every seat — ensuring the best viewing geometry in the room.

Atmosphere & Lighting

We design multiple lighting scenes: bright for cleaning, dim warm for watching, and subtle step lighting for safe movement in the dark. Fibre-optic star ceilings add magic without adding glare.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

A dedicated home theatre ideally needs a minimum room of 12×18 ft (about 220 sq.ft). For a 120-inch projection screen, you need at least 12 ft of viewing distance from the screen.

Both work. Projectors on a 120–150 inch screen give the true cinema feel. Large 85–100 inch TVs are better for rooms with ambient light and are lower maintenance. We design around either option.

We specify mass-loaded vinyl on walls, double-layer drywall with acoustic insulation, a heavy solid-core door with seals, and carpet + underlay on the floor to prevent sound leakage to adjacent rooms.

Yes. We work alongside your chosen AV integrator to plan speaker positions, amplifier rack locations, cable conduit routes, and equipment cooling — all built into the room design from the start.

A basic dedicated media room costs ₹4–8 lakh. A fully equipped home theatre with acoustic treatment, star ceiling, and motorised recliners typically costs ₹12–35 lakh depending on scale and equipment.
